“The link between academic failure and delinquency, violence, and crime is welded to reading failure. Over 70% of inmates in America’s prisons cannot read above a fourth grade level.”
(U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention, 1993.)

It takes money for us to do our work. We are a tax-exempt nonprofit corporation and will be good stewards of your generosity. It will go towards buying books, conducting Eat and Read programs, training reading tutors and other programs designed to get kids and their parents reading. We will acknowledge each gift with a receipt for your tax return.

We are always on the lookout for volunteers to help at our Eat and Read programs at area schools and public housing developments in our area. Click here to give us your contact info and let us know a little bit more about how you would like to help.

Help us maintain and grow our library of new and gently used children’s books. We’ll meet you at our library at Jefferson Elementary School or come by and pick them up at a time convenient to you. Click here or call 479-466-4791 to arrange.

Want to do even more? Our plan calls for recruiting, training and placing reading tutors in high percentage low income elementary schools in the region. We can train you to help us carry out our Mission. Click below to let us know you might be right for the job.
